Valley Masters - Planning
We have a rapidly growing nordic ski community in the Valley, made possible by the Mat-Su Ski Club, VMBAH, and the hard work of many individuals and other organizations. There is an opening to develop this cult community beyond the junior competition level and provide a training and/or social ski group for adults. Winter in Alaska can be isolating, especially when so many members of the community work remotely or commute into Anchorage and don’t have the workplace-based social group. It’s a little weird that we rely on an employer for human interaction, but I digress.
The goal of this program will be to build a financially accessible training group for a variety of interests and competition levels. We are in the early stages of ideation for this group, so now is the time to throw your ideas out there!
